Stock Market News: Tata Sons Board May Meet on 17 September Amid Chairman Succession Talks

The board of Tata Sons is tentatively expected to meet on 17-September to discuss the exit of its current chairman, N Chandrasekharan. The trustees with the largest stake in Tata sons have initiated the process of choosing his successor. It is not clear if the reappointment of Chandra to the top job will put to vote, as it now looks redundant. Incidentally, the two tata trusts (SRTT and SDTT) had backed giving Chandra another 5-year term, but Noel Tata was averse to the decision. One option is that directors may ask Chandra if he was willing to reconsider his decision.
