Stock Market News: Trump Signals Fresh Iran Deal as Geopolitical Tensions Ease
Trump affirmed that the perimeters of a deal with Iran was ready, due to which the US and Israel had cancelled plans to attack Iran. While Iran seemed unperturbed, the world is gradually losing its patience with Trump’s see-sawing tactics. The last deal broke down in early July and both the US and Iran had resumed attacks on each other. The US has demanded total opening of the Straits of Hormuz and an end to the Iranian nuclear threat. Neither Iran, nor Israel have commented on the statement made by Trump, but clearly this is a war that everyone wants ended.
Stock Market News: Zepto Delays IPO After Raising Fresh Pre-IPO Capital
Zepto announced pre-IPO funding round, while pausing IPO plans for now. Zepto has cash reserves of ₹5,681 crore and believes it can afford to wait for a more opportune moment for its IPO. However, Zepto committed that it would complete the IPO within the stipulated validity of 1 year for the current SEBI approval. Apparently, the valuation that Zepto was getting in the IPO market was far below what it could get in private funding. For now, focus will be on reducing cash burn and driving growth. Zepto is the second largest quick commerce player in India after Blinkit.

An additional $4.09 billion has been raised through the special window for OFCBs and ECBs, taking the total inflow of dollars in the last 2 months to $40.82 billion. These inflows are expected to boost the balance of payments and defend the rupee value. Banks are offering rates of interest of between 6.25% and 7.25% on these FCNR(B) deposits, with currency risk fully taken care of by the RBI and leverage of about 9-10 times on an average.

Stock Market News: NSE Clears Final SEBI Settlement Ahead of IPO
A day after SEBI agreed to settle the NSE case at ₹1,491 crore, the NSE has already paid the balance amount of ₹715 crore to SEBI. It may be recollected that NSE had earlier deposited a sum of ₹776 crore with SEBI, so with this payment, NSE has paid the full penalty amount to SEBI for its server colocation and dark trading case. This would be a full and final settlement of the case and allows NSE to freely go ahead with its IPO plans. NSE IPO plans are likely to be finalized by next month, and it will entirely be an offer for sale by early shareholders and investors in NSE.
SEBI Bars Zee Promoters Over Related Party Transaction Violations
SEBI banned Subhash Chandra and Puneet Goenka of Zee Entertainment, from stock markets for 1 year. The company has been barred for 2 months. This pertains to the unauthorized pledge of Zee’s land parcel in Hyderabad to secure loans availed by promoter-linked Essel group entities. The pledge of Zee property for promoter use was a related-party transaction and prior approval was not obtained. Indiabulls had funded the deal. What 5G Slicing Could Mean for India’s Internet Users and Telecom Industry
Most airlines in India may be thinning the First Class / Economy divide, but very soon internet in India could see such a classification. We are talking of 5G slicing, wherein operators will be allowed to offer preferential access to its most preferred customers. Obviously, that would be against the net neutrality basis for the internet in India. However, telecom companies have sunk in billions of dollars into 5G infrastructure and will need multiple revenue sources to recover this cost. Bharti Airtel had first raised this proposal and Jio had supported them in 5G slicing.
Conclusion
This week’s stock market news reflects how global diplomacy, domestic policy decisions and corporate developments continue to shape market direction. While easing geopolitical tensions could support risk assets, regulatory actions, strong GST collections, improving auto demand and fresh capital inflows all point toward an evolving investment landscape.
