Coforge Share Price: Hidden FY27 Growth Catalyst

#image_title

Coforge share price is back in focus after the company closed FY26 with one of the strongest performances among Indian IT companies 35.9% YoY revenue growth, a record order book, and expanding margins backed by AI-led productivity gains. On July 27, 2026, the company added further fuel to this narrative by securing a $230 million, five-year AI transformation deal with a European client.

At the same time, the stock has been going through a corrective phase after touching highs near ₹1,950, raising a key question for investors: is this a healthy pause within a long-term uptrend, or the start of something more serious?

In this article, we break down Coforge’s latest fundamental performance, the acquisition strategy behind its growth, balance sheet items to monitor, and a detailed technical roadmap for FY27 all based on the company’s reported numbers and chart structure.

Why Is Coforge Share Price in Focus Right Now?

Coforge ltd stock price on nse 1526 80 inr up 2 84 ₹42 10 today

Several developments have kept Coforge share price in the spotlight recently:

  • Strong FY26 revenue growth of 35.9% YoY
  • A record FY26 order intake of ₹19,001 crore
  • 21 large deals signed during the year, including 5 worth $648 million in Q4 alone
  • A fresh $230 million, 5-year AI transformation contract announced on July 27, 2026
  • Margin expansion guidance backed by AI productivity gains
  • Completion of the Cigniti integration and the Encora acquisition
  • A sharp decline in FII/DII holding largely explained by share dilution from the Encora deal
  • A stock price correction from ₹1,950 highs, with the chart now testing key moving-average support

Together, these developments make Coforge one of the more closely tracked IT stocks heading into FY27.

Coforge FY26 Performance: Revenue Growth Outpaces Peers

Coforge delivered one of the fastest growth rates among Indian IT companies in FY26.

Metric FY26 Performance
Full-Year Revenue ₹16,403 crore
Full-Year Revenue Growth 35.9% YoY
Q4 Revenue Growth (YoY) 30%
Q4 Revenue Growth (QoQ) 5.2%
Q4 Constant Currency (CC) Growth (QoQ) 2%

Growth continues to outperform most Tier-1 Indian IT companies, driven by strong deal wins and diversification across verticals.

Management, however, expects Q1 FY27 to be flattish, because the company has exited its low-margin India Data Centre business. From Q2 FY27 onwards, management expects growth to accelerate again.

Order Book & Deal Wins: Coforge’s Strongest Card for FY27

This is arguably the most reassuring part of Coforge’s FY26 story, since it gives visibility into future revenue.

Metric Value
FY26 Order Intake ₹19,001 crore
Q4 FY26 Order Intake ₹5,334 crore
Executable Order Book ₹14,714 crore (16.4% YoY growth)
Large Deals Signed in FY26 21 (11 in H2 alone)
Q4 Large Deals 5 deals worth $648 million

On July 27, 2026, Coforge secured a $230 million AI transformation contract with a European client, spread over five years reinforcing the strength of its deal pipeline.

Analyst View

The flat Q1 outlook is not a sign of weak demand. Instead, it reflects portfolio rationalisation, while the company’s core growth momentum remains firmly intact.

Analyst Takeaway

With this scale of signed contracts already in hand, management believes FY27 growth is well supported even before the year has fully played out. Future revenue visibility remains very strong.

Margin Expansion: The Core of the Investment Thesis

Alongside strong growth, Coforge’s management has also guided for margin expansion a combination that is historically difficult for IT companies to sustain together.

Margin Metric Guidance
EBITDA Margin 20.5% – 21%
Standalone EBIT 16.5% – 17%
Consolidated EBIT 15.50%

Key Margin Expansion Drivers

  • AI-led productivity improvements
  • Exit from the low-margin India Data Centre business
  • Encora cost synergies
  • Better operating leverage
  • A higher AI-driven revenue mix

Analyst View

Revenue is growing while margins continue to expand, a combination that management is positioning as the central pillar of the company’s investment case.

AI Is Becoming a Genuine Profit Driver, Not Just a Talking Point

Coforge’s management shared concrete productivity numbers to back its AI narrative rather than treating it purely as marketing language.

AI Metric Reported Impact
Developer Productivity Gain 25% – 35%
Code Generation Improvement 40% – 60%
Software Modernization Speed 10x faster
AI Agents Developed 130+
AI-Enabled Engineers 30,000+
Dedicated AI Specialists 11,000+

These gains are translating into lower delivery costs, higher margins, faster project completion, improved customer satisfaction, and stronger pricing power.

Analyst View

AI is shifting from being a cost-saving tool to becoming a meaningful driver of revenue growth and margin expansion for the company.

Acquisition Strategy: Cigniti and Encora

Coforge’s inorganic growth strategy has been a key pillar of its expansion.

Cigniti Integration

The Cigniti integration is now complete. The top 2 clients from this acquisition contribute $25–30 million annually, and the deal has expanded Coforge’s presence in testing, digital engineering, healthcare, and BFS.

Encora Acquisition

The Encora acquisition was completed after FY26 and adds capabilities in cloud, AI, digital engineering, product engineering, and embedded software.

Impact Horizon Effect
Near-Term Lower margins, higher debt
Long-Term Higher revenue, cross-selling, global client access, stronger engineering capability

Analyst View

Despite the temporary margin dilution, the Encora acquisition is viewed as strategically positive for Coforge’s long-term positioning.

Client Concentration Is Improving

Coforge’s client base has become progressively more diversified and sticky.

Client Tier Growth / Contribution
Top 5 Clients 45.80% growth
Top 10 Clients 40% growth
Repeat Business 95.50%

Client Pyramid (by Annual Revenue Contribution)

Client Band Number of Clients
$100M+ 1 client
$50M – $100M 3 clients
$20M – $50M 9 clients
$10M – $20M 23 clients
$5M – $10M 42 clients
$1M – $5M 167 clients

Analyst View

This is a highly sticky customer base with strong expansion within existing accounts, a healthy indicator of predictable and sustainable revenue growth.

Vertical Analysis: Reducing Dependence on BFS

Coforge continues to see strength across several verticals, while banking and financial services (BFS) is expected to recover through FY27.

Currently Strong Verticals:

  • Healthcare
  • Travel
  • High Tech
  • Government

Expected to Improve: BFS management expects a recovery during FY27.

Travel, Healthcare, Insurance, and Airlines remain the strongest growth engines for the company.

Analyst View

Vertical diversification is improving, and the company’s dependence on the BFS segment is gradually reducing, creating a more balanced and resilient revenue mix.

Financial Quality: Strong Cash Conversion

Metric Value
PAT Growth ↑86%
EPS Growth ↑89%
Operating Cash Flow ₹1,792 crore
Free Cash Flow ₹1,134 crore
FCF/PAT Ratio 110%
FY27 Cash Conversion Guidance 100% (up from 70–80% previously)
Net Cash Improvement $117 million

Analyst View

Cash conversion is excellent, and overall business quality remains high.

Balance Sheet: Items That Need Monitoring

While the overall financial picture is strong, a few balance sheet items warrant closer attention.

Item Change
Current Receivables ₹25,771 Cr → ₹39,700 Cr
Non-Current Receivables ₹3,911 Cr → ₹8,477 Cr
Trade Payables Almost doubled
Debt Increased (due to the Encora acquisition)
Investment Balance Reduced
Deferred Tax Liability Reversal ₹181 crore one-time PAT boost

Analyst View

Investors should keep an eye on working capital trends, debt repayment, and receivable days going forward.

Key Risks to Coforge’s Investment Thesis

No investment case is complete without weighing the risks:

  • Q1 FY27 revenue is likely to be flat
  • Encora integration risk
  • Higher debt levels post-acquisition
  • Expected FX loss of ₹40 crore
  • Margin dilution risk from Encora
  • Global IT spending slowdown
  • Execution risk around AI initiatives
  • Large client concentration at the top end
  • Rising receivables that need monitoring

FII and DII Holding Decline – An Accounting Effect, Not a Confidence Issue

FII holding in Coforge declined from 30.66% (March 2026) to 24.31% (June 2026), while DII holding fell from 56.18% to 42.62%. This sharp decline is primarily attributed to the issuance of new shares for the Encora acquisition through a share swap, which diluted the ownership percentage of existing shareholders rather than reflecting aggressive institutional selling. Public shareholding correspondingly rose to 33.07%.

Analyst View

This shift should be read as an accounting effect of equity dilution rather than a deterioration in institutional confidence.

Technical Analysis of Coforge Share Price

Weekly candlestick chart of coforge limited nse Uptrend from 2019 with resistance near 1965 and support around 15251533 latest close 1533 40 high 1538 20 low 1489 40 with volume bars and 50100200 day moving averages and rsi visible

1. Primary Trend Remains Bullish Despite the Recent Correction

Since 2017, Coforge has consistently formed Higher Highs (HH) and Higher Lows (HL) the textbook definition of a long-term bull market. Although the stock corrected sharply from around ₹1,950, this hasn’t broken the long-term structure. It looks more like a healthy correction within a secular uptrend.

Analyst View

Long-term investors can still classify Coforge as a structurally bullish stock.

2. Elliott Wave Structure: Is Wave-4 Nearing Completion?

A probable Elliott Wave count on the Coforge chart looks like this:

Wave Period Character
Wave 1 2017 → 2019 Beginning of institutional accumulation
Wave 2 2019 correction Healthy pullback
Wave 3 2020 → 2025 Strongest rally – longest, fastest, highest momentum
Wave 4 Current correction Sideways, volatile correction instead of a crash
Wave 5 (possible) Ahead Could create a new lifetime high if support holds

Wave-4 corrections generally retrace 23–38% of Wave-3, and the present correction fits reasonably well within that guideline.

Analyst View

Current price action looks more like a Wave-4 consolidation than the start of a long-term bear market.

3. The 200-Week Moving Average Is Acting as Institutional Support

The current 200-week moving average sits at approximately ₹1,290. Every time price has approached this level, buyers have stepped in aggressively a sign that large institutions are defending this zone.

Analyst View

As long as price stays above the 200-week moving average, the structural bull market remains intact.

4. Price Has Reclaimed the 50-Week Moving Average

Level Value
50-Week MA ≈ ₹1,530
Current Price ≈ ₹1,532

Earlier, the 50-week MA acted as resistance. Price has now reclaimed it, suggesting momentum is slowly returning though confirmation still requires multiple weekly closes above this level.

5. Major Resistance Near ₹1,580

The zone between ₹1,575 and ₹1,580 is an important confluence area, where previous support, moving-average resistance, and swing resistance all converge. A decisive close above ₹1,580 with strong volume would increase the probability of the primary uptrend resuming.

6. Strong Support Zone Between ₹1,250 and ₹1,300

This zone overlaps with the previous swing low, the 200-week moving average, and a psychological support level making it a strong demand zone. A break below this level could deepen the correction toward ₹1,200; until then, bulls remain in control.

7. RSI Shows Neutral-to-Positive Momentum

The current RSI is around 56, indicating improving momentum without the stock being overbought. There is still room for an upside move if buying continues. Ideally, RSI moving above 60–65 during the next leg of the rally would indicate strengthening momentum.

8. Volume Suggests Accumulation Rather Than Panic Selling

The correction from the highs hasn’t shown a classic pattern of persistent, heavy distribution. Selling volume spiked during the decline (normal after a sharp correction), but the recent recovery has come with healthier participation, and price has stabilized above major support rather than making new lows.

What to watch: A breakout above ₹1,580 accompanied by significantly higher weekly volumes would provide stronger confirmation that institutional buying is returning.

9. Trend Structure Has Improved, But Confirmation Is Still Pending

Technically, the stock has already achieved a Higher Low. It now needs to create a Higher High, which happens only above ₹1,580. Until then, the recovery remains a developing reversal, not a confirmed new uptrend.

10. Technical Roadmap for FY27

Scenario Trigger Targets
Bullish Case Break above ₹1,580 with strong volume ₹1,750, then ₹1,950 (previous lifetime highs) — potential start of Elliott Wave-5
Bearish Case Decisive break below ₹1,250 ₹1,200 or lower — implies Wave-4 correction is extending

Coforge Share Price: Final Thoughts

Coforge enters FY27 with a rare combination of strong revenue growth, margin expansion, a record order book, and a genuine AI-led profitability story. The Cigniti and Encora acquisitions add long-term capability at the cost of near-term margin dilution and higher debt, while rising receivables and a flattish Q1 FY27 outlook are worth watching closely.

On the chart, the long-term trend remains intact, with price holding above key long-term moving averages and building a base for a potential Higher High above ₹1,580. However, confirmation of a fresh uptrend is still pending, and investors should weigh both the bullish and bearish scenarios before making any decision.
