Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd. is emerging as a strong play on India’s electrification, infrastructure modernisation and digitalisation themes. The company has significantly improved its financial performance over the years, supported by a stronger order book, better profitability and a healthier balance sheet.

However, the stock also trades at a premium valuation, while revenue growth and margins have moderated recently. The key question for investors is whether future earnings growth can justify the current valuation.

The stock is currently trading around ₹1,279, after gaining about 5.5% in the latest session. With the share price still below its key resistance zone of ₹1,537–₹1,550, investors are watching closely to see whether the recent momentum can develop into a sustained breakout.

Company Overview

Schneider Electric Infrastructure operates in the electrical equipment and power infrastructure space. Its products and solutions include transformers, switchgear, power distribution equipment, automation and digital solutions.

The company benefits from its association with the global Schneider Electric group, giving it access to technology, engineering expertise, brand strength and global capabilities.

Its growth opportunity is expanding beyond traditional electrical equipment into data centres, semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, energy storage, smart grids, railways and industrial automation. This diversified exposure also puts Schneider Electric on the radar of investors tracking semiconductor and renewable energy stocks with long-term growth potential.

This gives the company exposure to major long-term themes such as electrification, digitalisation, urbanisation and Make in India.

Financial Performance: Growth Remains Healthy, but Momentum Has Slowed

Schneider Electric Infrastructure has delivered a significant improvement in revenue over the long term. Sales increased from roughly ₹1,000–1,100 crore in FY21 to well above ₹2,500 crore by FY26.

However, the recent growth trend has moderated. Sales growth was around 24% in FY24, 19.5% in FY25 and 9.6% in FY26. The latest quarter also saw relatively modest revenue growth.

This shows that the company is still growing, but the pace has slowed.

The more encouraging signal is order intake. FY26 order intake reached approximately ₹3,430 crore, significantly higher than the previous year. This creates visibility for future revenue, provided the company can execute these orders efficiently.

Order Book Is the Biggest Positive

The strongest part of the investment story is the sharp improvement in order intake.

Order intake increased from around ₹965 crore in FY21 to approximately ₹3,430 crore in FY26. The order backlog has also crossed ₹2,100 crore, providing stronger revenue visibility.

This creates an important setup: orders are growing faster than revenue.

That can be positive because revenue generally follows order wins with a time lag. However, execution remains critical. If the company converts the backlog into revenue and cash flow efficiently, earnings growth could accelerate.

Data Centres Could Become a Major Growth Engine

Data centres are one of the most attractive long-term opportunities for Schneider Electric Infrastructure.

India’s growing digital economy is driving investment in data-centre capacity. These facilities require reliable transformers, switchgear, power distribution, automation, monitoring and energy-management solutions. estors tracking the broader semiconductor stocks in India theme can also benefit from understanding how AI chips and data-centre expansion are driving demand across the ecosystem.

Schneider can participate across several parts of this ecosystem rather than simply selling a single electrical product.

Management has highlighted increasing exposure to data centres and semiconductors, with these segments contributing a meaningful portion of the order book.

If this mix continues to increase, it could improve both revenue growth and the quality of earnings.

Semiconductor, Manufacturing and Renewable Energy Opportunities

The company’s growth opportunity extends beyond data centres.

India’s semiconductor push can create demand for specialised power infrastructure and electrical systems. Manufacturing expansion can similarly increase demand for power distribution, automation and energy-management solutions.

Renewable energy is another structural opportunity. As solar and wind capacity expands, the power network requires transformers, switchgear, grid-management solutions and energy-storage infrastructure.

Railways, smart grids and industrial electrification provide additional growth opportunities.

This gives Schneider multiple potential growth engines instead of depending on one market.

Profitability: Turnaround Is Visible, but Margins Need to Recover

The company’s profitability transformation is one of its strongest fundamental positives.

EBITDA increased from around ₹64 crore in FY21 to approximately ₹371 crore in FY26. EBITDA margins also improved substantially from below 5% to around 13%.

ROCE similarly improved significantly and reached above 40% at its peak.

However, FY26 showed some pressure. EBITDA declined from approximately ₹383 crore to ₹371 crore, while EBIT fell from around ₹400 crore to ₹343 crore.

Commodity inflation, fixed-price orders and negative operating leverage affected profitability.

Therefore, Schneider Electric Infrastructure can be viewed as a successful operational turnaround, but with margin recovery still to be proven.

Investors should watch whether margins can move back toward the 15% range as commodity pressures ease and newer orders are executed.

Balance Sheet Has Improved

The company’s financial position is considerably stronger than it was several years ago.

Debt-to-EBITDA has declined substantially, while debt as a percentage of assets has also fallen. Interest coverage has improved significantly.

This provides greater financial flexibility for capacity expansion and future growth.

However, capital efficiency needs monitoring. ROCE declined from approximately 41% in FY25 to around 30% in FY26.

The key question is whether new investments generate sufficient returns.

The ideal outcome would be:

Capacity expansion → higher revenue → stronger EBITDA → better cash flow → recovery in ROCE.

Working Capital Needs Monitoring

Working capital has increased as the company prepares to execute a larger order book.

Receivable days moved back toward 103 days in FY26, while inventory days also increased.

This is not necessarily a major concern at the current stage, but investors should monitor whether receivables and inventory continue rising faster than sales.

The important test is whether the growing backlog converts into both revenue and cash flow.

Valuation: The Biggest Challenge

Valuation is one of the biggest concerns for new investors.

Based on the FY26 figures provided, the stock trades at approximately 99x P/E and 57x EV/EBITDA, making it a premium-priced stock.

At such valuations, the company needs to deliver strong earnings growth to justify the premium.

Therefore, even if the business performs well, a slowdown in earnings growth could lead to valuation compression.

Key Risks to Watch

  • Margin pressure: Rising commodity costs and fixed-price contracts could keep margins under pressure.
  • Execution risk: A strong order book must convert into revenue and cash flow for the growth story to remain intact.
  • Slower revenue growth: If revenue growth remains weak for an extended period, investor confidence could decline.
  • Lower ROCE: Continued decline in ROCE could indicate weaker returns on new investments.
  • High valuation: Premium valuation multiples leave limited room for earnings disappointments.

Technical Outlook

Schneider Electric Infrastructure remains in a long-term bullish trend, supported by a positive weekly moving-average structure. However, the stock has corrected from around ₹1,537 to nearly ₹1,270 and is currently consolidating.

The ₹1,200–₹1,250 zone is the immediate support area, while ₹990–₹1,000 remains the major long-term support.

On the upside, ₹1,537–₹1,550 is the key breakout zone. A strong weekly close above this range with good volume could signal the next leg higher.

If the breakout is confirmed, the measured technical target comes near ₹2,076–₹2,084. Weekly RSI around 55 remains healthy, suggesting that momentum has room to strengthen.

The ideal technical setup would be a higher low above support, followed by a breakout above ₹1,537 with strong volume and sustained buying.

Overall Investment Outlook

Schneider Electric Infrastructure presents an attractive combination of strong structural growth opportunities, a growing order book, improved profitability and a healthier balance sheet.

The biggest positives are the strong order intake, ₹2,100+ crore backlog, data-centre and semiconductor opportunities, renewable-energy exposure and long-term electrification theme.

However, investors should also consider the slower revenue growth, margin pressure, declining ROCE and premium valuation.

From a technical perspective, ₹1,537–₹1,550 is the decisive breakout zone, while ₹1,200–₹1,250 is the immediate support and ₹990–₹1,000 remains the major structural support.

Overall, the fundamental story remains promising, but strong execution is essential to justify the valuation. A sustained breakout above ₹1,537 with strong volume could strengthen the bullish case toward ₹2,076–₹2,084, while weakness below key support levels would require greater caution.
