Sharda Motor Share Price

Sharda Motor share price has been drawing fresh investor attention after the auto-ancillary company posted its strongest revenue growth in several years, with FY26 revenue up nearly 20% year-on-year and Q4 alone growing almost 30%. The stock has historically been known as a steady emission-systems supplier, but a string of new customer wins, an expanding lightweighting business, and rising export orders are now changing the growth narrative.

At the same time, the FY26 numbers threw up a few points that deserve a closer look operating margins slipped from 14% to 12.3%, working capital has stretched, cash balances have declined, and promoter holding has come down meaningfully over the years. The stock is also sitting right below a multi-year resistance zone on the charts, which raises a natural question for investors:

Is Sharda Motor’s growth story finally accelerating, or is the market already pricing in the good news?

In this article, we break down the company’s business, review its FY26 fundamentals, examine the technical chart, and assess whether Sharda Motor deserves a spot on your watchlist.

Why Is Sharda Motor Share Price in Focus?

Sharda motor share price

Several developments have kept Sharda Motor in the spotlight recently.

Key Investment Triggers

1 Sharp Revenue Acceleration FY26 revenue came in at ₹3,397 Cr versus ₹2,837 Cr in FY25, a growth of almost 20%. Q4 FY26 alone grew 29.6% YoY to ₹972 Cr, signalling that new programs and higher OEM production are starting to show up in the numbers after a slow FY24–25.
2 Strong New Order Pipeline The company has added a large commercial-vehicle engine manufacturer, a top-3 global tractor maker plus two more customers, and a European agri-equipment order with an estimated lifetime value of about $10 million. Several of these programs will only start contributing from FY27–28.
3 Lightweighting Is Becoming a Real Second Business Sharda’s lightweighting and suspension-component share of revenue has moved from around 12.5% to 14%, growing roughly 20% for the year faster than the core emission business. This includes control arms, subframes, torsion beams and other suspension assemblies, aided by a Donghee partnership.
4 Exports and China Plus One Sharda is targeting North America and Europe with emission, genset, tractor and lightweighting components, positioning itself as an alternative sourcing base as global OEMs diversify away from China.
5 Technical Breakout Zone On the weekly chart, the stock is consolidating just below its key resistance of ₹1,108–1,110 a level that has capped the stock since its 2024 highs.

About Sharda Motor Industries Ltd

Sharda Motor Industries is one of India’s established automotive-component manufacturers and a prominent automobile stock, historically built around exhaust and emission-control systems for passenger vehicles (PV) and commercial vehicles (CV).

Supply Chain Operations

The company is now trying to widen its role from being purely an emission-systems supplier to a broader vehicle-components player, adding lightweight suspension parts and export-led emission adjacencies to reduce its dependence on any single product line a shift that, if executed well, can increase its content per vehicle over time.

Fundamental Analysis of Sharda Motor

1. Revenue Growth Has Finally Accelerated

FY26 revenue grew almost 20% YoY, with Q4 FY26 growth accelerating further to 29.6%. This follows a relatively slow FY24–25 and suggests new programs, higher OEM production, exports and lightweighting are starting to contribute meaningfully. However, profit growth has lagged revenue growth, so the quality of this growth needs to be watched.

Investor Takeaway: Sales momentum is strong and improving, but revenue growth alone doesn’t tell the full story.

2. The Order Pipeline Is the Key Near-Term Trigger

Sharda has added a large CV engine manufacturer, a top-3 global tractor/agri-equipment maker along with two other customers, and a European agri order worth roughly $2 million upfront with an estimated $10 million lifetime value (SOP from Q1 FY28). A North American heavy-industry emission order is currently a test order that could scale up, while an existing North American genset program has seen its SOP shift from Q2 to Q3 FY27.

Investor Takeaway: Much of today’s order pipeline isn’t yet visible in FY26 revenue FY27–28 will be the real test of this growth strategy.

3. Lightweighting Is the Biggest Structural Shift

Sharda’s lightweighting and suspension-component contribution has risen from around 12.5% to 14% of revenue and grew about 20% for the year, faster than the traditional emission business. The product roadmap moves from control arms to subframes, torsion beams and other suspension assemblies, with the Donghee partnership seen as a key enabler for winning more content per vehicle.

Investor Takeaway: The transformation from “we supply emission components” to “we supply multiple vehicle components” has started, but it’s still early lightweighting is growing fast off a small base.

4. Sharda Is Still Primarily an Emission-Component Company

Segment Revenue Share (FY26) Growth
PV Emission 43% 9%
CV Emission 44% 15%
Suspension/Lightweighting 9% 20%
Off-highway/Genset/Exports ~1% —
Supply Chain ~2% —
Miscellaneous ~1% —

Roughly 87% of revenue still comes from PV and CV emission systems combined. Lightweighting is growing faster, but it remains a small slice of the overall business.

Investor Takeaway: The diversification story is real but not yet dominant emission systems will continue to drive results for the next few years.

5. Production Growth Supports the Underlying Demand Story

Sharda’s part production rose from about 50.65 lakh units to 55.39 lakh units, a 9.4% increase, broadly in line with strong OEM production growth across PVs, LCVs, three-wheelers and tractors. Since Sharda’s revenue grew close to 20% while production grew only 9.4%, part of the growth appears to be coming from higher content per vehicle, new programs and product mix rather than volume alone.

Investor Takeaway: A revenue growth rate running well ahead of unit production growth is a positive sign if it continues, it points to genuine content gains rather than just cyclical volume upside.

6. Exports and China Plus One Could Be a Second Growth Engine

Sharda is targeting North America and Europe with CV emission components, engine/genset emission parts, tractor emission systems, temperature-controlled tubes, heat shields and lightweighting products. As global OEMs look to diversify manufacturing away from China, India and Sharda’s existing OEM relationships and emission expertise stands to benefit. The $10 million lifetime-value European agri order is small in absolute terms but strategically important as proof the company can win global business.

Investor Takeaway: Exports are a small contributor today but could become a meaningful growth driver over FY27–29.

7. Emission Regulations Are a Structural Tailwind

Sharda is preparing for tighter norms such as BS6.3/WLTP, the eventual BS7, TREM-related regulations and CAFE III. Stricter emission and fuel-efficiency rules typically push OEMs to invest in better catalyst efficiency, exhaust systems, thermal management and lightweighting all areas where Sharda already competes.

Investor Takeaway: The core thesis isn’t just “more vehicles will sell” it’s that each vehicle may need more sophisticated, higher-value components, which can lift content per vehicle over time.

8. Margins Are the Biggest Watch Item

Positives
âś“ Revenue grew ~19.8% in FY26
✓ Operating cash flow of around ₹363 Cr
✓ Free cash flow of around ₹323 Cr
Watch Points
! PAT grew only around 9.5–10%, well below revenue growth
! OPM fell from 14.0% (FY25) to 12.3% (FY26); Q4 FY26 OPM was around 11.6%
! Material costs rose from ~74% to ~76% of sales

Investor Takeaway: Sharda is winning more business, but it isn’t yet converting that revenue into proportional profit likely due to investment in new plants, R&D and new customer programs. Whether OPM recovers toward 13–14%+ as these programs ramp up is the single biggest swing factor for the stock.

9. Balance Sheet Is Excellent, But Working Capital Needs Watching

Sharda’s balance sheet remains one of its strongest attributes debt of only about ₹49 Cr, a debt/equity ratio of just 0.04x, interest coverage of roughly 103x, ROCE of 36% and ROE of 26%. However, debtors rose from ₹285 Cr to ₹362 Cr and inventory rose from ₹207 Cr to ₹282 Cr, while cash and equivalents fell from around ₹199 Cr to ₹92 Cr.

Investor Takeaway: This isn’t a balance-sheet crisis operating and free cash flow remain healthy but rapid revenue growth should ideally come with better cash conversion, not weaker working capital.

10. Promoter Holding and Valuation Need a Closer Look

Promoter holding has declined from about 73.2% to 64.3% over time a fall worth understanding, though holding remains high and there is zero promoter pledge. At a price of around ₹942, the stock trades at a P/E of 16.3x, EV/EBITDA of 10.5x, PEG of about 0.91, with ROE near 28% and ROCE near 36% against a nearly debt-free balance sheet.

Investor Takeaway: Valuation isn’t stretched relative to the return ratios, but it isn’t a deep-value setup either the market is already pricing in continued growth from lightweighting, exports and new programs.

Key Positives

1 FY26 revenue grew ~20%, with Q4 accelerating to 29.6% YoY
2 New large OEM wins across CV engines, tractors and European agri-equipment
3 Lightweighting/suspension revenue growing ~20%, faster than the core business
4 Export opportunities tied to the China Plus One shift
5 Structural tailwind from tightening emission regulations
6 ROCE of 36%, ROE of ~28%, near-zero debt and zero promoter pledge
7 Strong operating and free cash flow generation

Key Risks Investors Should Monitor

1 OPM declined from 14% to 12.3%, with PAT growth lagging sales growth
2 Material costs rising as a share of sales
3 Working capital deteriorating — debtors and inventory both up sharply
4 Cash and equivalents falling despite revenue growth
5 Promoter holding down from 73.2% to 64.3% over time
6 Several new customer programs are still at SOP/ramp-up stage — growth not yet fully in the P&L
7 Valuation already reflects expectations of continued growth

Technical Analysis of Sharda Motor Share Price

Technical Analysis of Sharda Motor Share Price

From a technical standpoint, Sharda Motor’s weekly chart shows a stock that remains structurally bullish but is currently consolidating just below a key breakout level.

Trend Structure

The stock has moved from around ₹50–60 in 2020 to well above ₹1,500 at its peak, a strong long-term uptrend. Even after correcting from its 2024 high, the broader rising structure remains intact, making the long-term trend bullish but currently range-bound.

A Large Triangle Consolidation

Since the 2024 peak, the stock has formed a pattern of lower highs against higher lows a symmetrical triangle. Buyers have been stepping in at progressively higher levels while sellers have sold at progressively lower levels, setting up the ₹1,100–1,110 zone as a decisive level.

Resistance and Breakout Zone

₹1,108–1,110 is the major breakout resistance on the chart. A weekly close above this level, backed by strong volume, would be a meaningful bullish confirmation; without it, the stock is likely to keep moving sideways inside the triangle.

Support Levels

The immediate support zone is ₹915–930, close to where the stock is currently trading around ₹940–945. A deeper correction would bring the ₹765–770 zone home to the long-term moving average into play as the major structural support.

Moving Averages and RSI

The short-term average (~₹960), medium-term average (~₹915) and long-term average (~₹767) show the stock sitting near its short-term average, above its medium-term average, and well above its long-term average a mixed but improving picture. The weekly RSI at around 58 is healthy, positive but not overbought, leaving room for the stock to run further if the breakout plays out.

Volume Confirmation Is Crucial

Recent volume during the consolidation has been relatively modest. A genuine breakout above ₹1,110 would ideally be accompanied by a decisive weekly close on strong volume, rather than just an intraday move above the level.

Key Support Levels

Support Level Why It Matters
₹930–915 Immediate support; first level bulls need to defend
₹850–900 Lower triangle support area
₹765–770 Major long-term support (long-term moving average)

Key Resistance / Upside Targets

Resistance / Target Significance
₹1,108–1,110 Critical breakout resistance
₹1,200 First post-breakout objective
₹1,300–1,400 Intermediate upside zone
₹1,500–1,550 Major historical resistance / previous high

Should Investors Consider Sharda Motor Share Price at Current Levels?

Sharda Motor is in the early stages of transitioning from a traditional emission-component manufacturer into a broader automotive-technology supplier, with lightweighting, suspension components, exports and emission adjacencies as the next growth engines. FY26 showed a genuine acceleration in revenue, supported by higher OEM production and new customer wins, and the order pipeline gives visibility into FY27–28.

At the same time, margin compression, rising working capital, a falling cash balance and the long-term decline in promoter holding are factors that warrant continued monitoring. From a technical perspective, the long-term uptrend remains intact and RSI is constructive, but the stock is compressed inside a multi-year triangle traders may prefer to wait for a decisive, volume-backed close above ₹1,110 rather than anticipate the breakout in advance.

Final Thoughts

Sharda Motor’s shift from a pure emission-systems supplier toward a diversified auto-component player spanning lightweighting, exports and new emission technologies gives it more than one growth lever going into FY27–28. The order pipeline, production growth outpacing revenue growth in the opposite direction (revenue ahead of volume), and regulatory tailwinds all support a constructive long-term narrative.

That said, the single most important question for the stock from here is whether Sharda can convert this revenue opportunity into higher margins and stronger cash flow. Investors would do well to track OPM trends, working-capital movement and the pace at which new customer programs ramp up, rather than focusing on revenue growth in isolation.
