Sreeleathers Share Price

Sreeleathers share price is back in focus as the Kolkata-based footwear retailer attempts to break out of a multi-year downward-sloping trendline dating back to its 2024 peak of around ₹450. The stock has moved sharply from the ₹170–200 zone to around ₹240.71, and is now testing the crucial ₹251–252 resistance  a level that will determine whether this is a genuine trend reversal or another failed recovery attempt.

Behind the price action, FY26 showed a genuine turnaround  sales grew 14% to ₹248 Cr and PAT grew a faster 27% to ₹29 Cr, continuing a broader 24% five-year sales CAGR. Yet return on equity remains a weak spot at under 6%, despite a debt-free balance sheet, and this dynamic  strong cash generation but modest returns on a large capital base  is the central tension in the Sreeleathers story.

In this article, we break down Sreeleathers’ business, review its FY26 fundamentals, examine the technical chart, and assess whether Sreeleathers share price deserves a spot on your watchlist.

Why Is Sreeleathers Share Price in Focus?

Sreeleathers share price

Several developments have kept Sreeleathers in the spotlight recently.

Key Investment Triggers

01

Multi-Year Trendline Breakout Attempt

The stock is testing a downward-sloping trendline from its 2024 peak of around ₹450, with a strong weekly candle moving the price from ₹213.60 to a high of ₹248.90 — a genuine attempt at reversing the multi-year bearish structure.

02

FY26 Marked a Return to Growth

After a relatively slow FY24–25, FY26 sales grew 14% to ₹248 Cr while PAT grew faster at 27% to ₹29 Cr, suggesting operating leverage is starting to show through.

03

ROE Remains the Key Weakness

Despite a virtually debt-free balance sheet with ~₹358 Cr in investments and ~₹475 Cr in reserves, ROE stands at only around 5.8% — a large capital base generating comparatively modest returns.

04

Excellent Cash Conversion

FY26 operating cash flow of ₹31 Cr exceeded PAT of ₹29 Cr, with a negative six-day cash conversion cycle — the company collects from customers faster than it pays suppliers, a rare and valuable trait in retail.

05

Deep Valuation Discount to Peers

At a P/E of around 19x, Sreeleathers trades well below larger listed footwear peers like Metro Brands (~63x), Bata (~56x) and Relaxo (~54x) — though the discount reflects real differences in scale and returns, not just an overlooked bargain.

06

Q1 FY27 Results Still Awaited

With Q1 FY27 (June 2026 quarter) results not yet declared, the market is watching closely for confirmation that the FY26 recovery is continuing into the new fiscal year.

About Sreeleathers Ltd

Sreeleathers Limited, incorporated in 1991 and headquartered in Kolkata, is engaged in the trading and retailing of footwear and leather accessories through its own stores and a dealer network. Its flagship Lindsay Street showroom in Kolkata holds the record for being the world’s largest single-brand footwear store, and the company operates three business units  two in Kolkata and one in Jaipur.

Business Segments

01

Formal, Casual and School Footwear

02

Sandals and Chappals

03

Leather Accessories (Belts, Wallets, Bags)

04

Leather Garments and Travel Accessories

05

Retail (Company-Owned Stores) and Wholesale (Dealer Network)

Rather than manufacturing at scale like some larger peers, Sreeleathers operates a simple, asset-light trading model  source products, sell through stores and dealers, collect cash quickly, and replenish inventory  which requires relatively low capital investment and has historically generated strong free cash flow relative to its size.

Fundamental Analysis of Sreeleathers

1. Sales Growth  FY26 Shows a Strong Recovery

Sales grew from ₹83 Cr in FY21 to ₹248 Cr in FY26, a roughly 24% five-year CAGR, though FY24–25 were comparatively slow years. FY26 sales grew 14% to ₹248 Cr while PAT grew a faster 27% to ₹29 Cr, and TTM sales growth stands at around 15%.

💡
Investor Takeaway

Profit growing faster than revenue points to genuine operating leverage  but a realistic base case going forward is 10–15% sales growth, not an extrapolation of the historical 24% CAGR.

2. Business Model  Simple, Asset-Light and Cash-Generative

Sreeleathers operates as a single-segment trading business in footwear and leather goods, sourcing products and selling through its retail and wholesale network. This asset-light structure requires relatively low capex while still generating healthy cash flow relative to the company’s size.

💡
Investor Takeaway

A simple, capital-light model is a genuine structural advantage for a small-cap retailer, since it reduces the execution risk that comes with heavier manufacturing or infrastructure-led businesses.

3. Industry Outlook  Structural Opportunity Is Positive

India’s footwear industry is steadily shifting from unorganised to organised and branded retail, with organised retail accounting for roughly 37% of footwear sales in FY24. The broader Indian footwear market was estimated at around $20.7 billion in 2025, with a projected ~9.7% CAGR through 2034.

💡
Investor Takeaway

The formalisation trend favours branded players like Sreeleathers, though competition is intensifying as premiumisation becomes a bigger theme across the industry, including from larger peers like Bata.

4. Future Growth  Stores, Dealers and Geography

Unlike an order-book-driven business, Sreeleathers’ growth needs to be tracked through new store additions, dealer expansion, same-store sales growth, product range expansion and geographic diversification beyond its traditional Eastern India stronghold.

💡
Investor Takeaway

If management can sustain 15%+ growth by expanding geographically, the stock could potentially see a valuation re-rating  this is the single biggest swing factor for the long-term story.

5. Profitability  Good Margins, but ROE Is Weak

FY26 operating profit was ₹34 Cr (OPM ~14%), with PAT of ₹29 Cr (net margin ~11.7%). However, ROE stands at only around 5.8% and ROCE at ~8%, reflecting a large capital base generating comparatively modest returns.

💡
Investor Takeaway

The single biggest fundamental trigger for a re-rating would be ROE moving from ~6% toward 10–12%  margins are healthy, but capital efficiency is the real bottleneck.

6. Balance Sheet  a Major Strength (With a Catch)

Sreeleathers carries virtually no debt (~₹2 Cr, debt/equity near zero) with interest coverage of around 117x, alongside ~₹358 Cr in investments and ~₹475 Cr in reserves.

💡
Investor Takeaway

This is an exceptionally conservative balance sheet with essentially no financial leverage risk  but a large idle cash/investment balance only helps shareholders if management can eventually deploy it productively; otherwise, it continues to suppress ROE.

7. Cash Flow and Working Capital  One of the Biggest Positives

FY26 operating cash flow was ₹31 Cr against PAT of ₹29 Cr (CFO/PAT over 100%), with inventory days of just 15, debtor days of 1, payable days of 22, and a negative six-day cash conversion cycle. Inventory turnover runs at around 22x.

💡
Investor Takeaway

Sreeleathers collects from customers almost immediately and gets meaningfully more time to pay suppliers  an efficient working capital cycle that’s particularly valuable in a category like footwear, where slow-moving inventory usually forces discounting.

8. Peer Comparison  Cheap, but Smaller and Less Profitable

Company P/E ROE ROCE Debt/Equity
Metro Brands ~63x ~22% ~20% 0.79
Relaxo ~54x ~8% ~11% 0.11
Bata India ~56x ~11% ~13% 0.87
Campus Activewear ~43x ~18% ~21% 0.26
Sreeleathers ~19x ~6% ~8% ~0

Sreeleathers trades at a clear valuation discount to its listed peers.

💡
Investor Takeaway

The discount is explained by genuinely smaller scale, a regional rather than national brand presence, lower ROE/ROCE and lower institutional participation  the thesis isn’t “Sreeleathers is better than Bata,” it’s that Sreeleathers is a small, debt-free, cash-generative footwear company trading at a meaningful discount to larger, more profitable peers.

9. Shareholding  Very Stable

As of June 2026, promoters hold 75%, FIIs hold 6.9%, and the public holds 18.1%, with zero promoter pledge. Promoter holding has remained steady at 75% since September 2023.

💡
Investor Takeaway

Stable, unpledged promoter ownership is a genuine positive, though the high concentration also means lower public float, which for a company with a market cap in the ₹500–550 Cr range can translate into lower liquidity, higher volatility and limited institutional participation.

10. Red Flags and Valuation

The main concerns are: ROE of only ~6% despite a debt-free balance sheet; inconsistent historical growth (strong FY23, weak FY24–25, recovery in FY26) that still needs to prove durability; related-party transactions involving promoter-linked advertising, rent and purchases that warrant continued monitoring for arm’s-length pricing; a large cash/investment balance that could keep suppressing ROE if not deployed productively; and intensifying competition from Bata, Relaxo, Metro, Campus, Liberty and numerous regional/unorganised brands.

At current levels, the stock trades at a P/E of around 19x, P/B of around 1.1x and EV/EBITDA of around 13.6x, with an intrinsic value estimate of around ₹245.

💡
Investor Takeaway

This is reasonably valued rather than a deep-value bargain  the discount to peers is justified by real differences in scale and returns, and the stock’s re-rating case depends on Sreeleathers proving sustained growth and improving ROE, not simply being cheap.

Key Positives

01
FY26 PAT Growth

FY26 PAT grew 27%, outpacing 14% sales growth  a sign of operating leverage.

02
Strong Balance Sheet

Virtually debt-free balance sheet with ~117x interest coverage.

03
Exceptional Working Capital

Exceptional working capital cycle  negative 6-day cash conversion cycle.

04
Stable Promoter Holding

Stable promoter holding at 75% with zero pledge.

05
Valuation Discount

Significant valuation discount versus larger listed footwear peers.

06
Industry Tailwind

Structural tailwind from India’s shift toward organised, branded footwear retail.

Key Risks Investors Should Monitor

01
Weak ROE

ROE remains weak at ~5.8% despite a strong, debt-free balance sheet.

02
Inconsistent Historical Growth

Inconsistent historical growth  strong FY23, weak FY24–25.

03
Idle Cash & Investments

Large idle cash/investment balance could continue suppressing returns if not deployed.

04
Related-Party Transactions

Related-party transactions need continued monitoring for arm’s-length pricing.

05
Rising Competition

Intensifying competition and premiumisation trend from larger national brands.

06
Lower Public Float

Lower public float can mean higher volatility and limited institutional interest.

07
Q1 FY27 Results Awaited

Q1 FY27 results not yet declared  near-term growth continuity still unconfirmed.

Technical Analysis of Sreeleathers Share Price

Technical analysis of sreeleathers share price

From a technical standpoint, Sreeleathers’ weekly chart shows a stock in the middle of a genuine breakout attempt from a multi-year downtrend, though confirmation is still pending.

Major Trendline Breakout Attempt  Very Important

The most notable chart feature is the long downward-sloping trendline from the 2024 peak of around ₹450. Recent price action has moved sharply higher and is now testing this trendline  a breakout here could signal a shift from a bearish to a bullish structure, though it isn’t confirmed yet. Confirmation would require a weekly close above ₹250–252 with sustained volume.

₹251–252 Is the Immediate Make-or-Break Resistance

A horizontal resistance sits around ₹251.68, with the current price of ₹240.71 sitting close to it. A weekly close above ₹252 would confirm the stock has cleared the immediate supply zone; a rejection at this level followed by a fall back below ₹229 would make the breakout attempt questionable.

Price Is Above Both the 50-Week and 100-Week Averages

The 50-week moving average sits around ₹210.99 and the 100-week average around ₹228.97, with the current price of ₹240.71 comfortably above both. This structure  price above the 100-WMA, above the 50-WMA  is technically constructive, and the ₹229 region becomes an important support zone as a result.

The 200-Week Moving Average Is a Major Test Right Now

The 200-week moving average sits at around ₹241.96  essentially where the stock is trading right now. Since the 200-WMA represents the long-term trend, holding above ₹242 would improve the long-term structure, while remaining below it means the stock is still technically fighting long-term resistance  a reason not to turn aggressively bullish purely on the strength of one bullish weekly candle.

RSI at 66.88  Strong Momentum, but Approaching Overbought

RSI at 66.88 reflects strong bullish momentum without yet being overbought (traditionally 70+). RSI in the 60–70 range alongside a resistance breakout generally signals strong bullish momentum, whereas RSI above 70 near resistance would suggest short-term overheating risk  the former is currently the more relevant scenario.

The Latest Weekly Candle Is Notably Bullish

The most recent weekly candle opened at ₹213.60, touched a high of ₹248.90, and closed at ₹240.71  a strong bullish candle showing aggressive buying interest, though notably it did not close above the ₹251.68 resistance, meaning the level hasn’t been decisively conquered yet.

Volume Needs to Confirm the Breakout

Recent price gains have come with increased trading activity compared to the quieter period before, but a genuine breakout above ₹252 would ideally be accompanied by substantially higher-than-average weekly volume  price rising on falling volume would be a weaker signal, particularly after the stock’s long sideways/downward phase.

Upside Levels After a ₹252 Breakout

A convincing weekly close above ₹251–252 would open the door to an intermediate zone of ₹280–290, with the major historical resistance at ₹331.34 as a longer-term level  not an immediate target, but one to watch once the stock establishes itself above ₹252.

Supports and Risk Management

The first support is ₹229 (near the 100-WMA)  a breakout above ₹252 followed by a retest of ₹229–240 that holds would form a healthier breakout-retest structure. The second support is ₹211 (near the 50-WMA); a fall below this would significantly weaken the current bullish momentum. The major support is ₹170, and a move back toward this level would indicate the recent bullish attempt has largely failed.

Key Support Levels

Support Level Why It Matters
₹229 First support, near the 100-week moving average
₹211 Second support, near the 50-week moving average
₹170 Major horizontal support

Key Resistance / Upside Targets

Resistance / Target Significance
₹251–252 Immediate make-or-break breakout resistance
₹280–290 Intermediate zone after a confirmed breakout
₹331 Major historical resistance (longer-term target)

Should Investors Consider Sreeleathers Share Price at Current Levels?

Sreeleathers offers a genuinely attractive combination for a small-cap retailer  a debt-free balance sheet, exceptional working capital efficiency, stable promoter ownership, and a meaningful valuation discount to larger listed footwear peers. FY26’s recovery, with profit growing faster than sales, adds to the case that the business is regaining momentum after a slower FY24–25.

At the same time, weak ROE remains the central issue  a large, well-capitalised balance sheet that isn’t yet generating strong returns for shareholders  and with Q1 FY27 results still awaited, there isn’t yet fresh evidence that FY26’s growth is continuing into the new fiscal year. From a technical perspective, the stock is at a genuinely important juncture: it’s testing both a multi-year descending trendline and its 200-week moving average simultaneously, making a volume-backed weekly close above ₹251–252 the key confirmation signal to watch before reading this as a confirmed reversal.

Final Thoughts

Sreeleathers‘ FY26 numbers show a business getting its growth engine back  profit outpacing sales, industry-leading cash conversion, and a debt-free balance sheet giving it real flexibility. But the stock’s re-rating case ultimately depends on two things happening together: sustained 10–15%+ growth through store and dealer expansion, and a genuine improvement in ROE from its current sub-6% level.

Investors would do well to watch the upcoming Q1 FY27 results for confirmation that FY26’s momentum is continuing, track whether ROE shows early signs of improvement, and wait for a volume-backed weekly close above ₹251–252 before treating the technical setup as confirmed  rather than reacting to the recent sharp price move in isolation. This is another area where AI in investing can help  stock market AI tools can flag results announcements, ROE trend shifts and technical breakout confirmations as they happen, rather than requiring investors to track quarterly filings and chart levels manually.
