Keeping track of stock market news has become more important than ever as global events, technological breakthroughs, policy decisions, and economic trends continue to shape investment opportunities across markets. From developments in the US-Iran relationship and emerging AI regulations to India’s renewable energy expansion and critical minerals strategy, investors are navigating an increasingly interconnected world. Understanding these market-moving events can help investors identify risks, uncover opportunities, and make more informed financial decisions. In this edition, Jarvis Invest breaks down the most important global and Indian developments that could influence businesses, sectors, and market sentiment in the coming months.

Stock Market News: US-Iran Deal Raises Concerns for Indian Shipping and Oil Trade

As expectations of an imminent US-Iran deal build up, Mark Rubio informed S Jaishankar that all commercial vessels in the Straits of Hormuz must comply with instructions issued by US forces. India has meanwhile protested over the death of 13 sailors amidst the US-Iran conflict. US forces will ensure peace and security in the Straits of Hormuz. It is not yet clear if Iran has accepted that side of the agreement. That means Indian ships cannot travel to or from Iranian ports, nor move Iranian oil. Trump has claimed a deal, while Iran is yet to confirm the same.

Stock Market News: Anthropic Blocks Advanced AI Access in India After US Government Order

Just a few days after Anthropic granted India access to the Fable 5 version of Mythos, the same has been withdrawn under a US government order. Anthropic was forced to disable access to its most advanced AI tool,  after Trump administration asked Anthropic to keep the technology out of reach of foreign nationals. This stops access to any foreign national; either in the US or outside. As per Anthropic, the order was issued after discovering that it was possible to bypass the guardrails of Fable 5. This has larger implications for Google, NVIDIA, and other AI ecosystem owners.

Stock Market News: Adani Green’s Massive Battery Storage Expansion Could Transform Renewable Energy

Adani Green will commission a 14 GWh battery storage system at Khavda in Gujarat by end of FY27. The project will prevent wastage of clean energy by expanding storage capacity, which remains the key challenge in RE. Adani Green has commissioned 3.37 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the site and plans to scale it up to 50 GWh over a period of 5 years. The project gains urgency as India is reported to have wasted nearly 300 GWh of clean power in the first quarter of calendar 2026, purely due to lack of storage infrastructure. That is a huge wastage.

NLC India Enters Critical Minerals Race with Telangana Vanadium Block Win

NLC India Ltd (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation), secured a critical mineral block in Telangana in the latest strategic mineral blocks auction by the Ministry of Mines. NLC India was declared the preferred bidder for the Parvathapur Vanadium, titanium, and aluminous lateral block in the Sanga Reddy district of Telangana. Mining of coal and lignite is the core business of NLC India. As per the MOU, the first step would be to conduct detailed studies on overburden materials and tailings generated by these mines and the potential for rare earths recovery.

Stock Market News: Global Air Traffic Growth Slows as West Asia Conflict Hits Aviation Demand

Global air traffic growth is likely to taper to just 2.1% in year 2026, as per estimates put out by IATA. This is largely due to the West Asia conflict driving up fuel costs. Most airlines have been hit by the spike in ATF prices, as well as an overall compression in demand. Major transfer hubs in the Middle East have also reported substantial fall in traffic as flyers shift to alternate routes. In fact, the Middle East alone is likely to see air traffic contraction of -11.4% this year. Several Middle East nations have also imposed airspace restrictions due to the ongoing turmoil.

DigiDukaan’s Digital Push Aims to Help Kirana Stores Compete with Quick Commerce Giants

DigiDukaan has taken up the ambitious task of digitizing more than 1.4 crore Kirana stores across India. This will enable these Kirana stores to compete with the quick commerce players like Blinkit, Instamart, and Zepto. This has the backing of the Indian government, which wants to ensure that the livelihoods of crores of Kirana owners is not impacted by quick commerce. It will enable these Kirana shops to address challenges like manual record keeping, fragmented ordering systems, and limited secondary sales visibility. Two-way data flows will improve the fill rates.

Stock Market News: Rising US Household Debt Sparks Fresh Concerns About Consumer Financial Stress

American household debt seems to be rising to unsustainable levels once again. We are talking of credit debt of American households that has risen to a whopping $1.25 trillion, the highest since 2008. Also, nearly 13% of these balances are overdue for more than 90 days. Such high delinquency levels were last seen in 2011, when the US was still recovering from the GFC. It is not a case of new delinquencies, but of old customers getting deeper into delinquency. The surge in credit card debt can be traced back to the supply-push inflation in 2021-22; in the aftermath of COVID-19.

NVIDIA-Backed ePlane Makes India a Global Contender in Electric Aviation Technology

An upcoming Chennai based start-up has become Asia’s only eVTOL player for aircraft certification, backed by NVIDIA. Chennai based ePlane was specifically highlighted by Jensen Huang at the convergence of AI, aerospace, and next-gen mobility. ePlane uses NVIDIA AI and simulation ecosystem to accelerate aircraft certification. This makes ePlane only the third eVTOL company in the world. This is also a major boost for India as it shows that India is not just a follower in AI trends. This also is an international recognition of Indian capabilities in advanced avionics.
