The top 20 semiconductor stocks in India based on market capitalization are listed below.

The semiconductor opportunity in India in 2026 is more robust than it was even a year ago, as the narrative is shifting from announcements to production. So far, 12 semiconductor manufacturing projects with an investment of approximately ₹1.64 lakh crore have been approved as of June 2026.

Micron, Kaynes and CG Semi were already in commercial production by July, with additional plants expected to be up and running throughout the year.

This transition matters for investors who are watching semiconductor stocks India 2026. AI, automobiles, telecom, defense, industrial electronics and data centers are driving demand; policy has been reinforced in design, equipment, materials and manufacturing, under Semicon 2.0.

Before getting to the ranking, one thing should be very clear: India has a relatively small number of pure-play chip manufacturers. Hence, this list of semiconductor companies in India is a combination of the companies that directly manufacture semiconductors and the listed companies that are in semiconductor design, OSAT, electronics manufacturing, embedded systems and semiconductor engineering.

Top 20 Semiconductor Stocks in India by Market Cap

Market caps are approximate values as of late July/early August 2026, and may vary day to day based on share prices. The ranking includes semiconductor companies as well as key listed players in the overall Indian semiconductor ecosystem.

RankCompanyApprox. Market CapSemiconductor Exposure
1HCL Technologies₹3.67 lakh CrVLSI, chip engineering and R&D services
2Bharat Electronics₹2.93 lakh CrDefence electronics and embedded systems
3CG Power₹1.38 lakh CrSemiconductor OSAT through CG Semi
4Vedanta₹1.09 lakh CrPlanned semiconductor fabrication
5Dixon Technologies₹86,800 CrElectronics manufacturing ecosystem
6Syrma SGS Technology₹27,500 CrEMS and electronic components
7Tata Elxsi₹23,600 CrSemiconductor and embedded design
8Kaynes Technology₹22,700 CrEMS and semiconductor OSAT
9RRP Semiconductor₹12,100 CrSemiconductor and digital-chip business
10Avalon Technologies₹11,500 CrHigh-value electronics manufacturing
11Tejas Networks₹9,600 CrTelecom electronics and chip-design exposure
12Cyient₹9,500 CrSemiconductor engineering services
13ASM Technologies₹6,300 CrSemiconductor equipment engineering
14Centum Electronics₹5,500 CrHigh-reliability electronic systems
15Cyient DLM₹4,700 CrDesign-led electronics manufacturing
16MosChip Technologies₹4,000 CrFabless semiconductor and ASIC design
17RIR Power Electronics₹1,300 CrPower semiconductor devices
18MIC Electronics₹900 CrSemiconductor-linked electronics
19Sahasra Electronic Solutions₹844 CrElectronics manufacturing and semiconductor facility
20SPEL Semiconductor₹708 CrSemiconductor assembly and testing

HCLTech is the highest valued company, but its semiconductor exposure is largely through engineering and technology services. Investors should not mistake HCL Technologies for its separate HCL Group-Foxconn semiconductor manufacturing venture. That separation is as significant as market capitalization itself, and that’s why the nature of exposure matters so much.

Where Is the Strongest Manufacturing Opportunity?

Local packaging and manufacturing capability is the largest transformation in the India semiconductor industry.

CG Power – Moving From Electricals to Semiconductor Production

CG Power is one of the biggest listed companies’ semiconductor projects. The CG Semi facility at Sanand started its commercial production in July 2026, making it the third semiconductor facility in India to achieve commercial production in the same year.

This makes CG Power more than a policy-theme stock. Its existing electrical-equipment business provides scale, while semiconductor packaging creates a new growth vertical. For investors searching for semiconductor manufacturing companies in India, CG Power now has one of the clearer direct listed exposures.

Kaynes Technology – Building a Higher-Value Electronics Business

Kaynes Technology already has a presence in the automotive, aerospace, defence, medical, industrial and IoT electronics sectors, and with semiconductors, the company is going even further up the value chain. It is now a company that does advanced semiconductor packaging and OSAT as well as integrated electronics manufacturing.

Kaynes has begun commercial semiconductor production. This provides investors with access to India’s burgeoning electronics manufacturing ecosystem as well as the emerging chip-packaging industry.

Sahasra Adds – Emerging Small-Cap Opportunity

Sahasra is worth a look, even if it is a much smaller market cap. It inaugurated its semiconductor ATMP/OSAT plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, in May 2026, which is a significant SME contribution to the domestic semiconductor manufacturing sector.

The Q1 FY27 update also indicated robust revenue growth and further manufacturing capacity. Smaller manufacturing companies can offer an alternative way to access this structural trend for investors who aren’t afraid to venture out of the big caps.

Chip Design Could Be Just as Important as Manufacturing

Indeed, some of the best semiconductor stocks in India may be those that don’t have costly fab facilities.

MosChip offers ASIC, mixed-signal, SerDes IP and embedded-system design services, and has delivered millions of connectivity ICs throughout its history. Tata Elxsi, Cyient and ASM Technologies offer various types of semiconductor, embedded and engineering expertise.

India is also providing direct policy support to the design ecosystem. As of June 2026, 24 design projects were supported, 105 companies had access to advanced EDA tools and 23 chip tape-outs had been completed.

This makes a significant difference for an investor who is relying on best AI for stock research: manufacturing capacity versus chip IP and engineering services can generate vastly different revenue growth, margins and capital requirements.

EMS Companies Can Benefit From the Same Growth Cycle

Another significant group of semiconductor stocks in India includes Dixon, Syrma SGS, Avalon and Cyient DLM, and Centum.

These companies may not make wafers, but they make boards, assemblies and electronic systems that ultimately end up with semiconductor components. Indian EMS firms can have a higher share of the electronics value chain as India localizes smartphones, automotive electronics, defense systems, industrial equipment, and telecom hardware.

For instance, Dixon is now one of the biggest electronics manufacturing companies in India, and Syrma’s consolidated sales rose from ₹2,278 crore in FY25 to ₹4,367 crore in FY26.

It can be helpful to use an ai stock picker india to compare this higher earnings growth with valuation, return ratios and capacity expansion, instead of just picking a stock because it is a semiconductor stock.

How to Invest in India’s Semiconductor Stocks in India’s Growth Story

It’s no longer a one-size-fits-all company opportunity. Investors can diversify exposure to:

Category Companies
Manufacturing and OSAT CG Power, Kaynes, Sahasra and SPEL
Design and engineering MosChip, Tata Elxsi, HCLTech, Cyient and ASM
EMS Dixon, Syrma SGS, Avalon and Cyient DLM
Power and specialized chips RIR Power Electronics
Defense and telecom electronics BEL and Tejas Networks

This diverse strategy can be helpful in analyzing semiconductor companies in India by market cap, since a high market capitalisation does not necessarily imply high exposure to semiconductors.

An AI based portfolio management India can consider all indicators of earnings, valuation, balance sheet, sector exposure and portfolio concentration all at once.

Similarly, stock recommendations AI can aid traders in recognizing business that are starting to experience semiconductor development resulting in improved business performance, as opposed to just paying attention to the headlines.

Semiconductor Investing Is Moving Into a New Phase

The semiconductor investment saga in India is taking shape. As of now, the approved projects have surpassed ₹1.64 lakh crore, commercial production has commenced at various plants and Semicon 2.0 is expanding the policy thrust to design, equipment, materials and advanced manufacturing.

Opportunities for investors in not only the large, established investment vehicles, but also in the smaller semiconductor specialists. The more appropriate path to engagement is to recognise which companies are truly exposed with better earnings and have a clear role in India’s growing value chain.

AI can be used to compare the financial strength, growth potential, and portfolio suitability of best semiconductor stocks in India, aiding investors in making well-informed decisions.
